The last couple of weeks I have been visiting my collaborators at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). It has been a productive time and exciting.  The highlight of the visit was witnessing the launch of the Orbiting Carbon Observatory 2 (OCO-2) satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base.  Tensions were high as the original OCO satellite that was launched in 2009 crashed into the ocean after the rocket that carried it failed.  This they time around everything went smoothly and the satellite is currently maneuvering to it’s location in front of the A-train.  We all look forward to the day that data start streaming.
